Conduit Bender 3 Questions and Answers

Resolved Question: How do you figure out which angle degree to use when doing an offset rigid conduit bend ?

For example, I have to make a 6 and a quarter inch offset with 3/4 " rigid pipe. I can't remember how much space I have in between the two pieces of strut I'm connecting the pipe to, it's roughly 40 inches. The electric bender gives me choices of 15 deg, 22.5 deg, 30 degrees and 45 degrees. I know there are different constant multipliers to use to get my distance between bends but how do I choose which degree angle to use, is there a trigonometry equation I can use to figue it out ? Thanx  more

Resolved Question: Shaping soft copper tubing into a tight coil?

I'm wanting to form 1/2" OD soft copper tubing into a pretty tight coil, with the coil having approximately 3 1/2 " outside diameter. I plan on using a piece of conduit of the appropriate size to wrap the tubing around to attain the coil diameter I want. I also have an appropriately sized coil spring tubing bender to help. Wondering if anyone has done this successfully before and/or have any suggestions to ensure I don't collapse the tubing during the process.  more
